GOLDEN PIN AWARDS Membership Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Thank you for visiting the official website of the Golden Pin Awards, founded by the Taiwan Design Research Institute (hereinafter “the TDRI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
The Golden Pin Awards membership service is a unified online platform that provides users with quality services for the Golden Pin Design Award, the Golden Pin Concept Award, and the Young Pin Design award. It is operated by the TDRI Foundation as part of its effort to implement the “Taiwan Design Industry Soaring Plan” commissioned by the Industrial Development Administration,Ministry of Economic Affairs
To help you understand how your personal information is collected, processed, and utilized by the TDRI, please read in detail the following terms and conditions of our personal data collection and privacy protection policies. These terms outline how we collect, process, and use your information, as well as the measures we take to safeguard your privacy. In addition, these terms constitute a part of the User Agreement for the Golden Pin Awards membership service.
The TDRI reserves the right to update the Terms of Service at any time without notice. Any additions to, revisions of, or deletions from the terms will be published on the membership website. Members are advised to watch for changes on a regular basis. Members are considered to have read, understood, agreed to, and accepted the updated terms should they continue to use the service after any such changes take effect. Members are advised to cease use of the service immediately if they do not agree to any updated terms or revisions, or any other part of this agreement.
If you are under 20 years of age, make sure your parents or guardians also read, understand, and agree to these terms before using the service. Once you become a member, or if you continue to use the service, the TDRI will assume that your parents or guardians have carefully read, understood, agreed to, and accepted these terms, including any revisions thereto, in their entirety.
The use of this service constitutes an agreement by members and the TDRI Foundation to accept and adhere to these terms and conditions in their entirety.
I. Personal Data Protection Act Article 8 Disclosure:
- Name of the data collection entity: Data are collected and processed jointly by the TDRI and the Golden Pin Awards (including the Golden Pin Design Award, Golden Pin Concept Award, and Young Pin Design Award).
- Purposes of personal data collection:
- 069: Contract, contract-like, or other legal matters
- 172: Other government agencies conducting related business (including non-departmental public entities, government-sponsored foundations, and other public legal persons)
- Other permissible operations allowed by law as set forth in the TDRI’s registration documents and its articles of incorporation.
- Types of personal data collected:
- C001: For personally identifying information such as names, job titles, postal and residential addresses, cell phone numbers, online web accounts, photographs, email addresses, records for internet identity authentication, inquiry and application records, as well as any other data which may help identify an individual
- C003: For government-issued identifications such as national identification numbers and passport numbers
- C038: For occupations, such as school presidents/principals, legislators, or other professions
- The duration, territory, recipients, and methods in which and for whom the data is used:
- Duration: Unless otherwise prohibited by law, personal data shall be collected and maintained for purposes of Golden Pin Awards administration and operations from the day a user signs up for a Golden Pin Awards membership until either the user or the TDRI terminates the agreement, whichever comes later.
- Territory: Global
- Recipient: In order to provide quality service for its members, the TDRI may share information with its partners, assisting organizations, and government agencies where necessary.
- Method: Data may be collected and used for the aforementioned purposes through email, in writing, on the phone, via telegraph, over the Internet, or by other appropriate means.
- Members may exercise the following rights through the following means:
- Members are entitled to
- Make inquiries about and review their personal data
- Request copies of their personal data
- Supplement or correct their personal data
- Demand cessation of the collection, processing, or use of their personal data
- Request erasure of their personal data
- Methods for exercising these rights:
- Members may contact the TDRI by calling +886 (2) 2745-8199 ext. 331 or via email at gpaward@tdri.org.tw to submit a request. Members must complete the TDRI personal data request form sent to them and return the form in person, via post, or by fax. Upon receipt of the form, the TDRI will forward it to the cybersecurity department for further processing.
- Except in circumstances in which the TDRI is expressly permitted by law to use personal information to perform its operations, we will process members’ personal data requests only if they provide the necessary personal identifications along with an application form detailing the facts. Members may ask an agent or a third party to file a request for them, provided that an authorization letter and the necessary identifications are supplied. The TDRI may assess a handling fee for data inquiry and copy requests. If, for any reason, the TDRI is unable to process a request within the timeframe stipulated by law, an explanation will be given in writing. Members may also log onto the Golden Pin Awards website with their credentials to track the real-time status of their requests. Please note that members are solely responsible for any consequences resulting from sharing their login credentials with others.
- Members may choose what personal information, if any, to provide. However, some or all parts of the service may be unavailable if the information on file is incomplete, and the Golden Pin Awards shall not be obligated to perform its duties set forth in this agreement under such circumstances.
II. The Golden Pin Awards’ Privacy Protection Policy:
- Your personal information shall be collected, processed, and used by the Golden Pin Awards. Under no circumstances will we share your name, address, email account, or any other personal data protected by law with third parties other than our business partners (hereinafter “Golden Pin Partners”) without your express consent.
- You understand and agree that we may share your information with Golden Pin Partners, that we and our partners may collect, keep a record of, and utilize your information on file with the TDRI for the purposes of service promotion, market analysis, statistical research, and the provision of personalized, value-added services for our members, and that we may publish or otherwise utilize these statistics provided that no personally identifying information is disclosed.
- In order to improve the service quality of Golden Pin and its partners, members’ IP addresses and browsing activities shall be logged for internal web traffic analysis and quantitative online behavioral research purposes. We may publish or otherwise utilize such data without disclosing any personally identifying information.
- The Golden Pin Awards may not use personal data for purposes other than those stated above, except where:
- It is expressly permitted by law.
- It can significantly further the public interest.
- It is used to prevent harm to the member’s life, body, freedom, or properties.
- It is used to prevent material harm to the rights and interests of others.
- Written consent has been given by the member.
- The Golden Pin Awards website uses cookies and other similar technologies to enhance the browsing experience and offer more personalized service. Cookies are a technology that stores certain information on users’ computers to facilitate communication between the website server and the users’ browser. Users can configure their browsers to limit or prevent cookie access.
- The Golden Pin Awards website and webpages may include hyperlinks to other websites and webpages, whose contents and privacy policies are not related to the Golden Pin Awards’ website in any way.
- The Golden Pin Awards staff respects the rights of its members. We collect, process, and use member data in good faith and take measures to limit personal data collection and use to the specific scope of the purposes stated above.
